Madagascar: The harvest is expected to start soon, but cloudy weather, scattered rainfall, and limited sunshine have caused delays and restricted proper drying. This could slow fresh arrivals in the near term.
Demand
Indonesian cigar factories, which had been buying at a slow and steady pace, are now returning to the market to secure good quality cloves as supplies tighten. Export demand is also closely monitoring developments in Madagascar.
